HI everyone - just noticed post about wigs at airports - ee the things we have to think about when we go on hols…my issue is the packing dilemmas of prosthesis - if I take my swim prosthesis as well as my normal and in its box thats half my suitcase full up already - so I thought , hey I’ll swim with my everyday one - only in the sea not in a chlorinated pool -anyone had any problems doing that?
cheers for your thoughts, Nicola
Hi Nicola
I had a similar dilema when swimming for the first time after rads last year.I didn’t dare use my everyday one in case it damaged it and I was too tight to pay for a swimming one so I used the softie that I was given straight after the mastectomy. It was fine in the water and looked fine too.Have used it quite a few times now and it has still kept it’s shape and it’s nice a light too so wouldn’t take up too much room or weight:)Am off to Florida in October and will be taking it there.

Hi,
I took my prosthesis on holiday only once. Since then I just wear a softie and take a spare which look fine and wash easily and don’t take up any room.

Thanks both of you - its so obvious once you mention it but it never crossed my mind to use a softie - off I go with lighter luggage, and lighter heart to be honest …who wants to drag loads of spare breasts around europe!!
best wishes Nicola
