Had 1st cyst drained in Feb. It refilled within a week. Drained again in March. Mammogram was clear. I paid for a private ultrasound for peace of mind as have had a constant ache ever since. Ultrasound showed heterogeneous dense breasts with lots of small cysts. No other cysts have been symptomatic. GP referred to genetics clinic due too family history. Had response in June to say the referral went to the wrong hospital and needed to be resent to a different one. Started on the waiting list again for the new hospital. Have completed their questionnaire in July. Am currently on the waiting list still and am considered moderate risk. In the meantime, I was wondering whether to continue with having private ultrasounds? If so would it be better for me to consider annual ones?
Dear @myboobsmybusiness my goodness what a mess around you have had.
I think your GP needs to be involved here, by getting you through to the right hospital and department, however if you feel a private consultation would be better, it would certainly be quicker and you have the necessary cover I would go for it.
I’m so sorry for you not knowing what’s going on will only cause more stress, also the nurses on this site are extremely helpful and very supportive so you could give them a call for advise.
