Oncotyping test

Hi,

Has anyone had the oncotyping test where the results have come back low and therefore not needing chemo and found they have had a recurrence despite the low score?

Hi,

I had the oncotype test done in July and the score came back as 11.

If you go to the company web site it explains what they test and provides an example report.

Basically they genetically profile a piece of your tumour and assess it’s level of reaction to  ER+ inhibitor drugs alone v Chemotheraphy and ER+ inhibitor drugs.

Fo me the benefit of chemo as well as ER+ inhibitor was less than 1% and the side effects of chemo outweighed the benefits of receiving it.

If you escape chemo you will still need radiotheraphy to kill any localised remaining cells.

I hope that helps.

Hi Getorade - do you have your 2nd op tomorrow? If you do sending you lots of love and hugs.?xxx
