One breast changing shape

I recently noticed one breast had become noticeably bigger than the other (it has always been slightly bigger). No lumps or bumps or discolouration. But it feels heavy. Have had a mammo and ultrasound, and both diagnosed duct ectasia in both breasts, but found nothing else. I was reassured by the doctor, but am now wondering if this needs further investigation, and if so, what should that investigation be. Any help would be much appreciated.

I would get straight back to the GP for any breast changes. It is possible to have several conditions going on at once. Might be something as simple as an infection. But make an appointment now and get it checked. You might be wasting your time, but you are certainly not wasting his/hers. Its their job to check these things out

I just want to reiterate what OAL has posted - any changes should be checked with your GP. there are other means of investigating - not just mammo, and you should be able to get see at a breast clinic.
hope you get a swift and happy outcome

Thanks to Daisyleaf and Oldandlumpy. I went back to my gp and was seen at the breast clinic again yesterday. One breast now apparently has 25% more breast tissue than the other (how is that possible?!?), but it was looked at again with ultrasound and all appears ok, although the tissue is apparently very dense. I am greatly relieved, thank you.

splendid news! I hope you stay well and happy and never need to come back here. Hope you have plans for a good old celebration xxx

oh that is great news, thanks for letting us know, always good to hear that someone is one of the lucky 90% whose breast changes are not cancer.

Hurrah!!!
