I often look on this website, all be it I am not a frequent forum poster, as a little over a year ago it was the info from the posts of so many women that prompted me to see my GP and … well the rest is history.
One year ago tomorrow I was diagnosed with grade 3 ER+ ductal bc and my world changed completely…2 surgeries (lumpectomy and SNB) and further safety margin clearance, followed by 5 chemo, 23 radiotherapy sessions and commencement of Tamoxifen for 5 years … and I have Breast Cancer Care and all those postings to be forever thankful to.
I had my first year mammogram 2 weeks ago and just got the results …N.E.D (at the current time). What a relief!
Despite all the ‘horribleness’ of my diagnosis/treatments and the continuing shadow that a bc diagnosis casts, I would like to encourage any ‘newbie’ just embarking on this journey that it is all ‘doable’. Get as much advice/info as you can and ask as many questions as you feel you need to and always feel reasurred that there is someone here who will understand what you are going through. The time does pass quickly - honestly …and, for me, if I ever had to do it again, would I?? YOU BETCHA!!
Good luck & best wishes to everyone whatever stage you are at:)
