One year on feeling?

I finished treatment (WLE, EC x 3x3 weekly and 9x weekly PAC, 19 Rads) Oct 23. I still feel rubbish. I have been back at work 1 year this week. I have swollen ankles, sore joints from letrozole. I’m constantly sweaty and hot due to menopausal symptoms and have had to change what I wear and makeup to try and accommodate this. I’m grouchy and tired, I have absolutely no joy for life whatsoever. I’m trying to get 3 miles walking in every day but still eating rubbish because I’m depressed. I just feel horrible all the time and some days I’m wondering why I went through treatment to feel like this. I’m 50 and I feel old and knackered. Does it get better after 1 year or is this it? One year on feeling?

I’m sorry to read your post and the fact you are suffering so much . I’m on Letrozole too and struggle with the side effects . If you don’t mind me saying , please consider the following . Try some Magnesium for joint /bone pain . I take 150 mg twice a day .
Make an appointment with your Gp , explain how you are feeling . I’m on Citalopram for hot flushes but it’s also a mild antidepressant .
Ring or pop into Maggie’s and maybe ask for some counselling . It’s often a year on it all hits you. Breast Cancer Now can also put you in touch with someone who has been through the same x I hope you feel a bit better soon x

@edna thankyou for your response. I do need to get back into Maggies as they are so lovely. I’ve just started citalopram today so hopefully that might help. I felt so low yesterday, but today I do feel a bit brighter xx

Hi, I’m in a similar position but was lucky enough to take early retirement cos there no way I could cope with Letrozole side effects if I had to go to work. Even though I have lots of good support around me, I’ve been feeling that I need to speak to someone who feels the same way as me. Sometimes I feel like I’m going mad, even though I know I’m not the only one feeling like this! I’m 56 but feel more like 86!! BCNow are currently matching me up with their Someone Like Me scheme so maybe that’s something u could try too? Hope that helps xxx
