Hi, i discovered my 'lump’one year ago and am now feeling pretty nervous about going for my mammogram next week.I had a mx with immediate ld recon in nov last year 2010 its been an awful year for us all,hubby,five kids.six grandkids etc…And now its time to decide wether or not to have an implant in my 'good’breast to make it as perky as my reconstruction.Has anyone out there had this done?And also ive been offered nipple recon?I do want to look normal but i am a little nervous about more surgery and is it just vanity?Can anyone advise on this??I am 46yrs.xx
Hi, also had mx with immediate LD (no implant) recon last year. Had nipple reconstruction, tattoo & lipofill and a mastopexy on the “good side” this year to finish the recon and even things out. I am the same age as you and for me it was worth it. Very personal decision. Good Luck! X

Its a personal decision… but 4 yrs on and approaching my final tidy up on Wed, I am so glad I went back 3 years after dx to improve my appearance. No one sees me bar me and hubby but it has made me far more confident?!? My gd boob had a lift, hence I have a smiley dog scar on it and my deseased one rather looks like a noughts and crosses board BUT you wouldnt know in a bra and I now dont need a fillet.

I am told by PS implant quite easy, justs pops under muscle?
I had an LD flap, but then didnt go on to need the implant.
