Hi everyone, this is my second chemotherapy regime after having to stop EC early due to reacting badly to the steroids. I’m now on dose-dense Abraxane (nab-paclitaxel), and I just wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced ongoing neutropenia or low white cell counts on this treatment, or on paclitaxel in general.
After my first Abraxane, I had to delay treatment by an extra week because I was neutropenic. I’ve now had my second cycle delayed as well, but despite the additional week, my white cell count has actually gone down further rather than recovering. Last week, all of my white blood cell markers dropped.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation where they continued to become neutropenic despite treatment delays? Did you end up needing multiple delays, dose reductions, injections like G-CSF, or were you eventually able to continue as planned?
