Ongoing pain after radiotherapy

I had therapeutic mammoplasty end of Feb and 19 sessions of radiotherapy which finished early June.

I recovered fairly well from both, radiotherapy was tough for the last ten days but symptoms subsided and I started feeling like me again until about a month ago where I’m struggling with high level pain in ribs and chest and cannot apply any type of pressure on breast and it’s constant pain. Aswell as the return of the dreaded fatigue which arrives unannounced and knocks me off my feet.

Consultant wants me to have a full body scan and a chest xray to check for blood clots.

Has anyone else struggled with these symptoms?

It is so stressful when new symptoms appear just as you think you are recovering. Radiation tissue changes and nerve inflammation often take months to surface, but having your consultant run a full scan will give you clear answers and peace of mind.

It’s so true, just when you think you’re over the worst something just crops up!
