was only out on the patio half hour (clothed, lightweight top, long sleeves) without the parasol/ shade and have swollen up a bit around drain, armpit & wound area, feels numb, i feel like a dopey b@st#rd. staying in the cool shade today (had smx and full armpit node clearance last friday, home saturday) My drain has been having less content but still 100ml this morning. looking forward to having it removed as is most sore bit since surgery (and i keep getting kerfuffled with tube even though got fab bag for drain from Macmillan!)

I found where the tube came out it rubbed my skin & was the worst bit! But when you see how much it drains off it makes you glad it’s not building up inside. Hopefully your swelling will settle down if you stay in the cool today. It’s all a learning curve Hope you’re feeling well despite that x

all good here ta, i was told drain would be in 7-10 days so i can’t moan, and i prefer to see it in the bag rather thank think of it sitting in my body. my main problem is having patience and realising this ‘resting’ is going to take time for the healing to take place. am glad i’m on the journey now as the waiting for results etc was definately worse. lesson defo learnt about getting too hot!!
