Oops silly me!

After writing about getting a thread for loved ones I then realized that of course there is this category. I seem to have taken to writing stupid things lately … head just not in gear some days… not surprising I suppose.

Hi Sue

I have just read a post you have put on Valley Girls partners thread when you said that Lisa was DX on 3rd May 2007 and I just wanted to tell you that is the same day as I was DX.

I was 42 when DX so older than Lisa but still a younger lady [I like to think] and I have no idea if this will help you, I hope it will, but I just wanted to tell you that I am a currently a happy ending.

I have had surgery, chemo and rads and am now on Tamoxifen. I don’t know what the future holds for me but after reading your posts about Lisa and your hope that the post mortem will help with future treatments I just wanted to tell you that there are some happy endings out there and your willingness to help with the battle to beat this awful disease that robs people of their daughters, partners, sisters and mums will hopefully mean that more of us will beat this and go on with our lives.

I didn’t join the forum until earlier this year, I don’t know why cos I knew it was here but I just wanted to say thank you for your courage and commitment to beating this thing despite your own personal tragedy.

So pleased that you are doing so well AJ. Lisa was an unusual case almost from the beginning … different things that kept cropping up and was always being told that they hadn’t written the text book yet about her. Well I hope they are writing it now because it would be nice to know that her experience will help others. I am always saying on here that i don’t want others to get frightened that Lisa only made it just past one year from dx … she had a few things that baffled the Drs and it is very unusual for anyone to only make one year … for that reason all the medics were sure she would come through the latest complication (serious infection that they couldn’t get to bottom of) but she didn’t. Incidently she had IBC which we all know is very aggressive too. Also Lisa often put up with problems hoping they would just go away … everyone said she was so uncomplaining but sometimes its not good to be like that … so my advice is complain girls! Let them know you don’t feel well or you have a pain etc
