Op day is tomorrow

Hi all.

Op day for me tomorrow mastectomy on the right. Anyone have any last minute tips for me?
Have to be in for 7.30am op booked for 1.30pm.
Can anyone tell me more about the blue injection. Where is it injected, does it hurt?
This time tomorrow it will be done and fingers crossed I will be at home.

I had the blue dye injected after I was asleep on the day of my op, which I think is the normal process so you wont feel it.

 

Am sending you loads of hugs and good wishes for tomorrow, let us know when you can how you got on.

Hi M and R
I came home last night. Have a drain in place and have to go back Monday for it to be taken out. Keeping up with the pain relief. Otherwise feeling ok at the moment.

Hi cookiefairy that did make me smile. I think I will just watch the dust collect and write messages in it. It was good to take the support stockings off yesterday. Thankfully it was a glorious day and I could sit in the shade all day doing nothing. As always positive thoughts xx

Good luck, and a big hug for tomorrow. The blue dye doesn’t hurt, so worry not. It helps the surgeon track travel to your lymph nodes, which is essential. Just keep thinking that it is all for the best in the long run and part of the live saving work the breast team are doing with your best interests at heart.

Hi ollybobs. I hope you are doing ok after your op and not baking too much in this heat!

Hi eggster.
I have had the drain taken out today. Can move about more freely now. Hot weather is lovely but cannot sleep at night. Pain is ok took co-codamol for a few days but going to go to paracetamol now if I need anything. The others knock me out. Have to go back to the hospital 6/7 for results and next step.
