Op over and I survived lol

Hi everyone
Well I had my WLE on Thurs and came home on Friday (they were glad to get rid of me, wandering about like Lady McBeth) and I feel fine, bit sore and bruised and I get tired very quickly (go from doing something to flat out and asleep in seconds) The staff were wonderful, had my own room! I had a pre med, enough to knock out a horse according to Ray the nurse, and that really helped. The only really painful bit was they had trouble getting the cannula in and I cried a lot then! Next thing they woke me up to move me and I asked them to hurry up and do the op and they said its over so wake up your going back to your room! What a wnoderful feeling of relief! Saw my consultant, he said it all went well, got both lumps, tissue and extra also some lymph nodes. Got to wait about 2 weeks for results now with fingers crossed as he put it! Im off work for 2 weeks now to recover so trying to find things I can do and leave the stuff I cant do. Everyons has been great, house looks like Interflora!
I hope my op description helps anyone else who is scared and thanks to all who have responded to my ramblings

Hi supersams, sit back and enjoy the pampering however remember to do your post surgey exercises even if you do feel tired your arm and shoulder will stiffen up quickly if you dont. A few times when I was out and about (retail therapy with my sisters ) I wouldnot be able to do them for hours and creaked when I finally got around to doing them. Good luck with your follow up. x

Great news Supersam and good luck with the results  I have to wait about 2 weeks too and it feels like such a long wait, but worth it in the end (I Hope).

Well done, great news. Good luck with the results - horrible waiting.

Love, Maggie xxxx

Hi Supersam

Good luck with the test result! Hope thing goes well with you.

Happy recovering

Thanks to all for your good wishes! Surprise Surprise I have another query i hope some of you can help me with. I took my dressing off on Saturday, looked at the wound and yes it’s nice and clean and healthy. I left the dressing off as BCN had suggested. The thing is that night I was in as much discomfort as I was the day after the op! It woke me up in the early hours and I had to take painkillers again! I thought that the pain had gone but its like stabbing inside and hot stabbing (cant really describe it) Is this right? Is it because the boob is’nt really supported as it was by the dressing? I have now taken to wearing my bra again just in case. A bit worried I may have been overdoing it around the house etc. The pain does not seem as bad today but it is still uncomfortable. Has anyone else found this?

Hi sam I wore a bra for the 1st 2wks just felt a bit better with it on,suppose it depends where they did lumpectomy.

I kept getting little stabbing pains, but that has eased off now.hope everything goes ok tomorrow.

I’m off to Christies tomorrow for my tattoo’s,what do you think I should have.

love n hugs for tuesdayxxxxxxx

Hi Sam, I wore my special, very attractive (!) front fastening post op bra for a good week or so day and night as it was painful not wearing it.
