Openness and learning following patient safety events in Scotland

What is the title of the project?

Openness and learning following patient safety events in Scotland

What is the project about?

NHS Health Education for Scotland are seeking to identify factors that facilitate and impede patient, carer and relative involvement following a health care safety event, using patient perspectives to guide and strengthen how the NHS involves, communicates with, and learns from patients, their carers, and relatives.

Who is organising it?

What are the criteria for taking part?

You may be eligible to take part if you are a patient or family member of a patient who has experienced a serious health care incident or patient safety event in the last 10 years, and are aged over 18 years. We are looking for people who experienced a patient safety event as part of treatment or care from NHS Scotland, and so happy to hear from people if the incident took place in Scotland but they now live elsewhere in the UK.

What do I need to do?

If you would like to discuss any aspect of the project, please email jean.mcqueen2@nhs.scot. You can find out more and take part via the study’s website.
