Oral Mucosities/constipation Side effect management

Just to share. the below links were created by BC (British Columbia) Cancer Agency of Canada Provincial Health Authorities.

(1) mouth wash for the treatment of oral mucositis - Before chemo, they suggested baking powder. It did not work for me and until my onco prescribed the below. Used (swish and spit ) 2 days and didn’t happen again in subsequent cycles.

(2) Constipation -

When I was on Paclitaxol/Herceptin/Purjeta, the first couple days had constipation (think due to steroid), then the next few days diarrhea (one of the common side effects of Purjeta, statistically 48-51%). The chemo nurse gave me this but I never tried it. Now I am on only Herceptin n Purjeta, no more steroid and so diarrhea only. Avg 2 pills Imodium each cycle could resolve my diarrhea problem.
