Oral thrush on DC

Anyone got any tips or experience?  I had really bad thrush after my second DC chemo so I was given Nystatin drops this time.  I started using them 4 days after the chemo when I first felt my tongue furring.  It cleared by yesterday (Day 8) but all the time I was on it I was (excuse the language!) spewing out mucous.  this is still going on and I have a really dry mouth.  Should I have continued the Nystatin longer, or is all this a side effect of that?  Other than that this time has not been too bad, although I now have a rash on my throat!

Ideas or help please! I need to start eating properly as I have lost 5kg.  Thanks.

Hi there Scarf Lady

I suffered mouth ulcers with the Chemo and thrush quite a bit of the time.  I was prescribed Nystatin and it seemed every time i stopped (when it had cleared) it came back.  GP suggested i use it each day to keep it at bay.

Also prescribed Gelclair, took some of the soreness away from the ulcers. Satchets of aniseed flavour gel which you swished around your mouth for 5 mins or so and then spat out.  I know this is expensive but it was so helpful.
