This morning in the shower, I stabbed my little pinky with one of my earrings, believe it or not the hook part got stuck in the finger and underneath the nail!
I managed to free it eventually, gave it a good wash with antiseptic but its on my hand without lymph nodes.
Should I be doing anything else to try and prevent infection?

I would have thought that was enough, I have cut myself a couple of times and just put antiseptic on and it was fine… I would keep an eye on it though just coz its under the nail

i think as long as you have put antiseptic on it just keep a eye for any infection i having my treatment in my surgery arm i have no lymph glands.

I think you’ve done exactly the right thing with the antispetic. And if your’regoing to stab yourself, the shower has got to be the cleanest place to do it!
As you know, I’ve got lymphoedema in both arms and I’m always forgetting to slap antiseptic on cuts, scratches, etc or else I remember two hours later! So far, I’ve never had any problems, touch wood, but it’s best to be safe - just wish I wasn’t so absent minded…

Bit late replying but I did that with a very stiff bristle from my brush on my lympho arm under the thumbnail… God it hurt! But it’s cleared up now, just washed it and put on antiseptic.
