Ouchie boob!

Hi. WLE and axilla clearance end of Jan. 6 x chemo, ended 4 July. 15 x radio, ended 18 September. Not started letrozole yet, not had the bisphonoates yet.
Last week or two, started getting pains in the breast - random, sort of sharp stabbing type. Very ouchie.
Is this just normal, another thing to put up with?
Thanks.

Hi
I had this after my lumpectomies and think it’s where the nerves have been severed and are repairing
I do find that my boobs are still so tender after having surgeries in May and July 2023

I know I’m lucky as I only had to have lumpectomies and radiotherapy

Hello noots

Thanks for posting.

Pains like the ones you describe can develop a few months after surgery and radiotherapy to the breast.

This is often due to the nerves repairing as @Lynikinz and @springtime1 explain. This should settle down although some women may have some pain in the longer term. The type of bra you wear may make a difference. If you have any concerns do contact your treatment team. You could also ask them when you will start the letrozole and bisphosphonate.
