Our forum is getting an upgrade

Hi everyone

You will soon receive an email from us regarding the forum.

In brief, the forum is moving to a new platform. This means it’ll look a bit different, and some buttons and links will change places. The categories and threads you’re used to will remain the same.

The new forum looks great, and we can’t wait to show it to you.

From Tuesday 20 June at 8am , we will need to move the forum to read-only mode for a few days while content migration work happens in the background. This means that people won’t be able to post new content, but they can access the boards and make searches for existing content.

If during this time you need to speak to our team of breast care nurses, you can find more info on this page.

When we launch the new forum, you will not need to create a new account.

We will be moving all the public content posted in the current boards to the new forum.

We will not be able to migrate private messages – this is to minimise risk. If you wish to keep any private messages you have sent or received, you will need to either screenshot them or copy and paste them into a separate document.

A big thank you to the incredible team of Community Champions who have been supporting us with feedback throughout this process. We are sure you’ll like the new forum, and we can’t wait to launch it!

Bernard

An update on this:

We are getting close to moving the forum to a new platform.

In the week commencing 24 July, we will move the forum to read-only. This means that while people can log on and read messages, they won’t be able to post new messages.

This is while we migrate the remainder of the content from the current forum to the new forum.

A reminder that while all content will be migrated over, we will not be able to migrate over any private messages sent between users. This is to minimise risk.

This week we will

  • email users to remind them of this

Next week we will

  • introduce the new forum to our team of Community Champions
  • email users to ask them to set up a new password for the new forum. Usernames will remain the same

We aim to switch to the new forum in August.

We hope you like it as much as we do! In case of any difficulty, our team is here on moderator@breastcancernow.org, and always happy to help.

Bernard
