Over the counter remedies?

Hi, I’ve just started Paclitaxol and trastuzumab and I wondered if it’s still ok to use things like gaviscon, paracetamol or even Rescue Remedy? I always get a slightly unsettled stomach when I’m anxious and tho I’ve been given something for nausea I don’t know if I really need that at the moment.

thank you

Hi Artylady

Thanks for posting.

Although there is nothing specifically in the drug information which says things like Gaviscon or paracetamol should not be taken whilst on paclitaxel and trastuzumab, we’d always suggest you check with your treatment team or hospital pharmacist about this. They will also be able to advise you about taking any other over the counter medicines or herbal remedies such as Rescue Remedy.
