Paclitaxel

Going through breast cancer treatment Chemotherapy

Hi everyone

 

Does anyone have any experience with paclitaxel. I would like to know how effective it is.

 

My partner was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative IDC in July 2017. She started EC chemo sessions in September, but the cycles were stopped in November because the tumour wasn’t responding to treatment. Her medical team proceeded with a mastectomy and removal of 12 lymph nodes. About a month after radiotherapy earlier this year we discovered that the cancer is recurrent. This time there is also low volume metastatic disease in both lungs.   

 

My partner is due to start chemo again, but this time with paclitaxel.

I can’t comment on effectiveness but it is very well tolerated so fairly easy to cope with. I’m a third of the way through my 12 weeks worth with no ill effects.
