Had first (and hopefully last WLE nearly two weeks ago) as well as two lymph nodes removed for testing. Still waiting for pathology resutwhich I get next week and are nervous about.
Just wanted to ask if stabbing pain in breast after WLE is normal? Told by my bcn it’s the nerves reattaching just wondered if everyone experiences this? It’s really bad today. Thank you for your time. Rebecca xx
Thank you for your reply. I had hardly any pain when I came round after surgery and it’s worse now 2 weeks down the line. Hopefully as you say it is the nerves knitting not the cancer saying ‘hey I’m still here!’ I did the hoovering today which wouldn’t of helped I know I shouldn’t be doing it. My mum was doing it until now but she’s gone home now.
I think that this is really common, my sister had her operation a year ago and still sometimes gets shooting nerve pains. I think even when the nerves haven’t been cut, they get dragged around so they make themselves felt from time to time.
I hated the wait for the pathology results, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!
Thank you. My nipple has been itchy and painful today but keep telling myself it means it’s healing. The bruising is fading and the incision is barely visible now in fact I have more of a scar from the core biopsy before I was diagnosed. Disappointing to hear the pains may come back with rads but if it’s nescessary to clear things up (I’m sure it will be) I’ll put up with it! X
