I’ve been reading through these threads for an hour or so and what a lovely community.
Hi, I am 36 and have been having breast pain in one breast only and just one small area area of that breast for maybe around 4 weeks. It usually only hurts when touched and feels like a deep bruise. Occasionally the breast seems to ache and be tender all over but usually it is only when pressed. There is no lump there.
I went to the doctor about this and she examined me and couldn’t feel a lump either, however she noticed some thickening of the tissue elsewhere on the same breast. To be honest I can’t really feel the thickening and it feels the same as the other one to me but of course I am not the expert.
If squeezed very hard, a tiny amount of yellow discharge comes out of both nipples - I stopped breastfeeding a year ago so I don’t know if it could be linked to that or if that’s a worrying sign?
She has referred me to the breast clinic and my appointment is in 13 days - seems a really long wait and I am quite anxious.
Did anyone else have these symptoms? Pain, no lump, thickening elsewhere? I have read about stabbing pain some experienced but has anyone felt pain that is more like the feeling of a bruise?
Thanks so much in advance for any responses. Sending love to all of you, whatever stage of the journey you’re at.
Thank you for your reply Nat1984 and I hope your treatment is going well. What type of cancer were you diagnosed with? (If you don’t mind me asking)
Sending you best wishes
Welcome to the forum, we are here for you with love and support. So sorry to read you are so anxious of what maybe ahead.
At the moment try not to run away with your thoughts (very easy for me to say) you are cancer free until your consultant confirm a cancer diagnosis stay positive.
Wishing you well, with health and happiness going forward, please let us know how your getting on.
Hi, I was diagnosed with ER+PR+HER2- breast cancer. I was 38 at the time. I’m 41 now and doing well. I’m hoping yours will come back as not cancer, but if it is, feel free to reach out if you want to chat. Fingers crossed! xx
Hey, I just wanted to update those of you who had kindly messaged me. I had a private ultrasound scan today as the NHS clinic I was referred to is still 10 days away. The pain is still the same and it had been the most awful week of anxiety as I’m sure you’ve all experienced - the waiting game.
The doctor said there is nothing concerning and that all is well and probably just hormonal changes.
I am feeling so relieved and lucky and will still go the that NHS appt as a second opinion.
