Hi just wondering if anyone has had really bad arm/hand pain on Exemestane, particularly the biceps. I can hardly pull up my jeans with the pain. Its only come on since changing from Anastrozole to Exemestane. I thought i was getting on pretty well with the change but now I dont know if this may be the meds. Im sure i havent strained or pulled the muscles. Its just a strange pain and not my surgery side!
I don’t know your medication but thought I’d reply because on both Letrozole and Fulvestrant, I’ve experienced muskoskeletal problems and it’s not uncommon.
With Letrozole, I was very stiff with carpal tunnel in my right arm. I changed to Fulvestrant and first my back went into spasm, I developed tendonitis in my right hand then my right bicep became extremely painful.
I couldn’t lift my arm and had to move it around with my left hand. I took pain killers and antiinflammatories (Naproxen/codeine) and after a week of this, three times a day, the pain got better.
I’m still wearing a hand splint for the tendonitis and may have to have a steroid injection, but the arm pain has much improved.
Oh gosh yes its the biceps pain that is the worse! Can’t pull my pants up!!!
I had carpel tunnel some years ago but it has definitely flared up with Exemestane. Nothing has let up despite 5 weeks since I stopped xx
