I have had a painfull left hip for a few months now and over the last 2 weeks i have had a sickly headache and have felt more tierd and genrely unwell.Today i have been saying things back to front.
I was DX Sept 05,6 FEC,WLE & node clearence,15 Rads and have taken Tamoxifen for 18 months.
Has any one else had simlar symptoms.I saw my ONC in July but he wasnt to worried about my aches and pains and said it was due to the treatment i had.
Hi Bluebell
You could have been writing for me with your present symptoms.
your Dx a month before me and although our treatment plans are slightly different our pains at the moment sound similar.
My oncologist though is very very thorough. I had a bone scan and Ct liver and lung scan in March thankfully they were clear.
Have you ever had a bone scan if not ask for one its your right. I know probably your mind is thinking secondaries etc etc, I am the same. Well i was doing quite well until this past few weeks i can hardly sit down with pain in my lower spine.
Some days i wish it would all just go away.
I see the surgeon on Friday about my other mastectomy but going to ask him about hip pain.
When is your next oncologist appt?
Lets keep up to date with each other hey and help each other along this ‘horrid journey’
Ruthx
Hi Ruthx, I had a bone scan 1 month after DX all clear, and at the same time i had an adomen scan all clear,
I have an appt with ONC next July.due a mammo Nov and breast clinic to see my surgeon Dec.I know i could phone up breast nurse and she would get me an appt but i ran up the hospital so many times after my treatment ended with one thing or another that sometimes it felt like i was turning into a hypercondriact and got the impresion of Oh god she`s here again.
Im surposed to be doing the hydro womens challange next sunday in Birmingham, but i am going to phone for an appt with my GP tomorrow for Wednesday eve see what they say and most probely phone my breast nurse.Lelsey.
Dear bluebell
Please do go back to your hopsital for a check up. There could be many explanations for your symptoms but they have lasted a long time and should be taken seriously.
good luck and best wishes
Jane
Hi Ladys,
I saw my GP tonight and i feel i have been fobed off,he thinks i have a bladder infection and given me 5 days of antibiotics to take,i left the surgery in tears once again i had the same response of oh no shes here again.im begining to think there
s a note on my notes saying im a hypercondriact
Even when i mentioned that i was worried there may be some link to my BC and secondaries he said there wouldn`t be a conection.
I will take the tabs but if the pain is still there on Monday i will phone my breast nurse.
Lesley.
Hi Lesley,
Please don’t even think that you are a hypochondriac. I hope that the tabs work - and soon. But if not, don’t hesitate to contact the breast nurse. I hope too that you can still do the challenge on Sunday.
Best wishes, Margaret
Hi lesley, please ring your bc nurse, no matter what, you are not a hypochondriac you are just worried about your health, and so you should be, i was given a very good tip by my surgeon, and that was to contact him or my onc, not to go to my gp as they are not specialised in cancer care, please ring your bc nurse
lots of love
Alison
Thanks all,i will try to get her tomorrow but it clinic day so i will leave a message.
ps sorry about my bad spelling,Lesley.
Do get it checked out -i had a painful left hip and it turned out to be secondary cancer
I am sure you will be ok but best to get checked

Hi all,
I have spoke to my breast nurse today and she is speaking with my ONC tomorrow morning, she said he will most likely arrange a bone scan and palvic x-ray for me and then see me in clinic for the results.

I did the hydro challange yesterday in 46 mins and now paying the price for it,but im glad i did it, wearing a pink wig and bunny ears.
Lesley.

I had a palvic and left hip x-ray yesterday ,now the dreaded wait for the results.I did see them up on the light box when they was being checked and my left hip area had greyer areas that was like several circles and there was what looked like swigly worms there too.but hay what do i know im not the expert so i hope im not kept waiting too long for the results.
Lesley.
Good luck for your results Bluebell, hope all goes well

Update.
Hi all,my xray didn`t show any thing up so my ONC wants a bone scan ( in his words ) to cross the Ts and dot the Is.
I dont know how to feel about this,im now wondering why,if my xray was clear why a bone scan?.Why do i always think the worst.I have been told i should get a appt in the next 2 weeks.
My hip still hurts and there is some swelling and i am limping as it hurts to put weight on it.
Lesley.
Hi
It’s been a while since I’ve been in here. Nice to read from you all again! Well Bluebell I logged in today as I am too suffering all sorts of aches and pains and I see your post, which gives me some reassurance that I’m not the only one!
The worry is dreadful isn’t it? I wonder if you ever feel right again. And you worry about pushing your doctor etc, not pushing them, saying something or not saying something. All adds to the burden.
I am suffering pains in my back, shoulder and ribs front and back. It’s deep rooted. I mentioned it to my breast consultant and he whisked me off for 4 Xrays. It was 2 days before I went on holiday, and I didn’t get the results till I got back! When I was on the plane on the way home I felt like I was doing the death walk!
Anyway, all was clear, which I was relieved about, but I went back to the doctor, as I can’t get comfortable. The pain moves all the time. Today it feels like it’s where my liver is…so of course I think…I wonder what the symptoms would be for liver mets?
Last night it was like a burning pain in my side.
The doctors going to ask if I should have a bone scan to cross the T’s and dot the I’s too. I’m seeing a physio next week to see if it’s muscular.
