pain in lower abdomen

I had BC in November 05, with lump removal, no spread in nodes, radiotherapy and am on Tamoxifen with little problem. I’ve not had a period in over 18 months and I’ve (hopefully) gone through the menopause with no side effects. I’ve had little problem with the Tamoxifen other then a flabby tummy and weight loss which is slow. I’ve recently had a mamo which is still clear.

However over the past couple of days I have been having a stabbing pain on my left side in my lower abdomen just above my hip bone. It feels very similar to a stabbing pain I used to have on occasions when a period was due and I used to think it was my ovaries. It’s a pain that feels deep inside me. But being a complete ignorant about the body I am not sure and wonder if its anything I should be worrying about. I hate going to the doctors its all so time consuming and unsatisfactory sometimes. Any advice would be helpful

Jenjen,

I am no expert but I think you should get it checked out,its probably nothing but its obviously worrying you. I am sure most people will say the same so give your GP a call and get an appointment.
God I sound like your mother LOL!

I used to get and still do occasionally a pain that sounds like the one you are experiencing.

I found it hard to get pregnant so i attended the hospital and after lots of different internal scans etc, i was sent to the family planning clinic for advice, this is where i told them about the pain and they said i was ovulating at this point.

I really dont know how that goes if you dont have periods but thought i would let you know anyway…

Hope you get sorted…

All the best Allison xx
