Pain in remaining breast for 6 months

Hi everyone! I wonder if anyone else can relate to this.
I was diagnosed in July 3013 with grade 3 dcis with one node affected. I was 8 months pregnant at the time and so I had my daughter, then had my mastectomy a week later.
In September, I started getting this juggling burning pain in my remaining breast, which would come and go randomly. The pain is still there, and now sometimes can be really mild or really sharp and painful. Pain varies from burning to tingling to aching to sharp and stabbing. I have been examined by GP 3 times and breast surgeon twice, and they have not been concerned. They are putting it down to hormonal issues due to childbirth, then the effects of chemo on the breasts etc, which I completely understand. I can’t help but still feel anxious though, as much as I’ve tried to relax!
Has anyone else experienced breadt pain in their remaining breast? Feel so scared and alone and can’t find anything on net about it.
Please let me know of your experiences so I can try to put my mind at ease.
Thank
Kat x

Hi katfish

It sounds like you’re having really tough and worrying time at the moment. I’m sure some of the others users will be a long soon to offer you their experiences and advice.  In the meantime do give the BCC helpline a call and talk things through with a member of staff, who will offer you a listening ear as well as emotional support and practical information.  The number to call is 0808 800 6000 and lines are open weekdays 9 to 5pm and Saturday 10 to 2pm.

Best wishes Sam, BCC Facilitator
