I am 74 and had a mastectomy and complete lymph node removal 15 years ago. I didn’t have a reconstruction and use a prosthesis. However, I’m now beginning to experience pain in my chest wall and wondering why. I do have osteoarthritis and wonder if it’s something to do with that. It’s also affecting my arm on that side. Do you have any answers or solutions please?
Hi nancy5
Thanks for posting.
Its natural for you to wonder what is causing your chest wall and arm pain.
There can be many causes for this but it’s difficult for us to say what it may be due to or if the pain is related to your osteoarthritis. It sounds as though the pain is new and is also affecting your arm on that side so we would suggest that you make an appointment with your GP to get this checked. They will assess your symptoms, request further checks if necessary, and may be able to advise about possible solutions.
