pain

hello ladies, i have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer last thursday i am waiting to go in for surgery on the 18th of april i am a bit concerned that i have been getting some pain which comes and goes in my breast and it is also comeing and going in my right lower shoulder kind of behind my breast if that makes sense should i tell my nurse this was all happening before i was diagnosed any advice would be great thanks …

Hi Patricia51, Pre my diagnosis I had pains too and in my back, always best to mention this to your team looking after you, got to say mine was the cancer in the breast causing mine.

Best of luck with the treatment plan, my advise to you would be to be flexible about your treatment and expect the order of things to not always go to plan, the team looking after you will have the expertise to help you.

xx

Hi, My first post on this site. I too had pains before my diagnosis on Wed. In fact it was funny short, stabbing pains that made me examine my breast more closely and resutlted in finding the lump. I had always examined my breasts on the first day of the month but had not found the lump before so for me the pains were useful.
My doctor actually asked if I had pains at my original appointment.
I have read somewhere that pain can be one of the symptoms of breast cancer.
Hope this helps.

thanks for the info and advice ladies will let the nurse know on friday xx
