Hi all, I had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal in November. I am getting so much pain in my breast, like one minute it is all fine and then it’s like someone has twisted my nipple. I then get shooting pains and aching in the breast. I then end up holding the breast to try and massage the pain away but it looks awful if I am in company or out.
Is there anything I can do to ease this xx
Hi Callista,
Thank you for your post.
I am sorry you haven’t had any response yet. I am hoping my response will help our members to see your post and offer their advice.
In the meantime, please remember that for any clinical questions our breast care nurses are here and happy to talk things through.
Sending you our warmest wishes,

I came on here looking for anyone else with this weird shooting pain and found your post.I had a lumpectomy And SLNB in April and the last 2 days I have had real pain in the breast. Feels like someone is sticking needles into the area where the cancer was. This is new and not fun at all!
Hope your pain is calming xx
Hi, I was told that the pains would keep coming until the radiotherapy stopped working as it continues to attack the cells: good and bad. The bad cells die but the good cells need to recuperate and repair themselves back to healthy cells and thats what hurts. The pains in my breast change constantly. For a month or so I felt like I had a sort of donut shaped hardness in the centre of my breast. I couldn’t lie on it or press against anything (with sport), but its just suddenly gone. I hope your pains imrove too. x
