Has anyone else experienced chemo aggravating kidney pain.
I’m on 3rd chemo + 3rd painful kidney infection
There is a stone there not causing an obstruction but definitely causing a lo of pain.
Any suggestions welcome

Hi Coleen
On my first lot of chemo I also suffered with kidney pain - I think it was because my kidneys were finding it hard to flush the toxins out.
Do you drink a lot of fluid (mainly water)? That sometimes can help but if the pain is severe I would get it checked out.
Good luck

Hi Collen
I agree with with pinkdove. My kidneys were sore but not painful, on my first cycle. The advise i got was to drink about 2 litres of water a day to help flush the system. It did help. Do get it checked if it does carry on.

Thanks Pinkdove+ Kirsty,
Things got more painful turns out there’s a kidney stone causing infection!! not nice but antibiotics starting to take effect.
I was fretting in case the chemo was attacking my kidney. Too much imagination perhaps - but boy It was sore!
Ihope you both are well and continue to fight the good fight!

Hi Coleen
Glad that you now know what it is!
I’m not surprised you initially thought that it might be the chemo - hope the antibiotics do the trick.

Had kidney pain for last 8 days I’m due for my 6th and last FEC next Tues. Just got back from doc and have slight infection but nothing too bad but shes sending me for a scan. My imagination is running riot but I hope its just infection and the hard work of flushing through all those chemo drugs.
