Hi. Not posted here for ages. Looking for your thoughts. Was diagnosed with bc July 2006. Had chemo, surgery, radiotherapy and been fine ever since. Had recurring neck pain since been back at work in mid 2007. At it’s worse a year ago. Had x-ray, bone scan and both were clear. MRI showed a prolapsed disc in my neck. Not related to cancer been told. Referred to neurologist. By time I waited the 3 months for the appointment the pain has subsided enough that was told surgery not required to fix it.
Anyway sitting here tonight, neck is sore again. Also have a sore wrist which is painful only when I put pressure on it. No swelling or bruising to wrist and i don’t remember hurting it. Pretty sure the old disc problem in my neck has returned but concerned about my wrist. Really gets me down when i get what seems to be a trivial ache or pain. Would feel really stupid to go bother the doc as I’m not one for bothering him. Can secondary cancer appear in the bones at your wrist? Can’t help thinking this!
Caz,
Are you on any tablets like Tamoxifen or arimidex?
I have joint pains in wrists, fingers, ankles and toes. The pains are not related to physical activity and it feels as if the bone itself hurts rather than the joint.
other (female) users of arimidex have similar feelings.
I have this too. I am on Arimidex and one of the listed side effects is carpal tunnel syndrome. A painful wrist(s) is part of this syndrome together with pins and needles in the hands which I also have.
I’m not on any medication at all now. So pain is not from any side effects from medication.
Hi there
I developed a sore wrist while in hospital just after my last chemo when i got neutropenic sepsis. I was really worried about it but an xray showed no problem except it did find osteopenia- had dexa scan and am now on calcium. My wrist is still sore at times (18 months later)- I just put it down to wear and tear!!!
Hope you are okay- try not to worry - we magnify every pain don’t we but it is usually nothing,
Love CC
Hi Ladies
I am on tamoxifen. I have pain in my shins which is mostly constant.
i also have occasional pain in my collar bone (the side that was zapped), wrist (the side that took the chemo)and in my feet… don’t know why my feet hurt!
I finished my chemo in Nov and my rads the following month. My onc told me that she is not concerned about my aches and pains that she thinks it’s still the chemo in me and that the chemo can be in you for up to 4 months after your last dose. I’m glad i see her next week as i still have aches and pains.
By the way my pain started during my chemo & rads so i know it’s not related to the tamoxifen.
