Painless lump in lower inner quadrant

Hi all

I am high risk for breast cancer,  am on tamoxifen and aspirin 75mg, and have annual mammograms. I received a clear mammogram report a few weeks ago, but during a check found a red area and lump on right breast (not painful) about 11 days ago. Saw Gp  friday who was querying whether its a bite that got infected,  and prescribed a course of flucloxacillin. I am due for a review monday, and so far the lump is still there. I am 44, lost two aunts to breast cancer aged 46, and 49, and my mum had breast cancer at 51, and passed from metastatic ovarian cancer at 62.

Any advice?

Hi Juzzles,

I think you would be best phoning Breast Cancer Now to speak to a nurse (tel number at top right of screen) to talk through details or post a message in the ask a nurse section of the forum.

It’s good that you’ve got a follow up appointment with your GP. Hopefully, if it is a bite, the antibiotics will kick in and clear the patch, however given the family history if you phone the nurse they will be able to advise and perhaps suggest follow up q’s to ask your GP too.

Hoping it gets sorted.
