Painting nails or not

Hi there, bit confused here. For those only having FEC, should nails be painted in dark colours or not?

And what oils are advised to help?

I’ve had three lots of FEC and no nail damage. Now on T and that’s the one they advise painting nails to stop UV light accelerating damage. I’m winging it and just using nail cream and cuticle oil twice daily, as I hate having nail varnish on my nails.
