I have been offered a mastectomy nearly 5 years later after been diagosed with stage 4. My breast is starting to hurt and I have lumps in my arm pit. My OC and surgeron suggest I have the mastectomy to prevent complications later on and it may get to a point when they can’t operate. Has anyone else had a mastectomy so late after being diagosed. How was it. I feel I am going to go through alot of pain etc for no gain at all. xx

The mastectomy might make you feel more relaxed as everything will be in the bin. If your MDT advise it. They will have looked at your case etc before deciding. It’s the thought of an op. I’ve had a mastectomy. I don’t remember a lot of pain and you won’t be getting chemo.
Has anyone had a chest wall lump removed.?
