Panic has set in! :-(

Hi all,
Just having a panic! Still in early days of diagnosis, surgery complete and waiting to see the oncologist! I have just noticed that the very base of my back is a bit tender and now I am thinking it has spread! I have no other issues, no pain when moving, just when I press there it feels a bit sore!! Am I being ridiculous?? Seen lots of things about mets which I don’t understand but think that’s panicking me!!:frowning:

hi sunshine,
Your not on your own, im sure most of the people with breast cancer readin this post can relate. I would say if it is something that is causing you distress mention it. Im going for a ct scan 2mara. Like you i had a tenderness but on my breast bone. I was reasured by my surgeon that it was nothin but it has continued to bother me, on my second meeting with oncology they agreed for me to have a ct scan to alay my fears they dont think its anything to worry about but understood that it was causing me a lot of concern. I pray to God they are rite and im worrying bout nothin but at least il no either way. Dont feel its ridiculous. if thats the case then we are all ridiculous.

Wishing you the very best of luck.xxx

Hiya,
The one thing i would say is wait until you see your Onc and have scans. You have been pulled and prodded during surgery and this could just be a knock on effect. For example - if you have had a MX are you carrying yourself differently now?
Defintely mention the pain to the Onc - but (and i know this is hard) try not to jump to conclusions. Its so easy for our minds to run away with us. If you are getting really stressed can you ring yout hospital and see if you can see the Onc any earlier?
Please dont google.
