Pause in Capivasertib due to rash side effect

Hi

I have only been on Capivasertib for 10 and a half weeks but I have had to pause it for two weeks because of an ever increasing rash. Other than that I have managed it very well and it is disappointing to have to pause. Has anyone else experienced this and then gone back to the treatment with no further rash appeating?

Take care everyone x

I’m taking Capivasertib for a few months and was warned about skin issues. As I have have problems before with shower gels and detergents I use Cereve hydrating cleanser in the shower instead of soap or shower gels and slap on lots of Boots Oats moisturising cream afterwards. I’ve found I can use Persil non bio to wash clothes and always use this and can’t use fabric conditioner or Vanish without having a bad reaction.

I hope this helps !

Hi Luludaisy and thanks for replying. There are not many people on this treatment. I use E45 or Aveeno creams about 3 or 4 times a day and use Persil non bio. I also take an antihistamine every day on the advice of my oncologist since the rash started. He has now said I can use hydrocortisone on the rash although at first attempt yesterday the rash started itching more than ever. It started as little spots but they have grown and merged and I’m hoping this pause will calm them down and let me continue on the Capivasertib. I see the oncologist again in two weeks so that he can review the situation. Other than the rash I have had no side effects.

I hope you manage to stay side effect free.

Best wishes

Dianne
