Your not wrong there pets are very therapeutic wouldn’t be without them xx
Hi, I have just joined the forum and spotted this topic. Last weekend I went to a conference about the dogs’ sense of smell. One talk was by Medical Detection Dogs, it was fascinating to learn how they are training and using dogs to detect changes in chemical odours of cancer patients, though it was mainly for prostrate cancer, their scenting abilities are beyond our comprehension sometimes. I have had BC twice, the first time one of my dogs unusually wanted to lay next to me through my treatment months, two of the others were not as attentive (or never got a look in maybe!), our current dog showed no extra bonding if you like, but I guess all dogs are different, and they were all adults when adopted. Having dogs though was THE biggest motivator to get out nearly every day, no matter how short the walk.
I agree…my dogs, much more supportive than hubby…they are so faithful and great company, aren’t they?
Hello Ladies,
Wishing all of you, your family and your fur babies a very Merry Christmas. Have a wonderful day!
Warmest and best wishes, Belle xxx
Hello, just found this thread.
Was diagnosed mid March with DCIS ( following 1st routine mammogram) but after masectomy also found 2 x IDC tumours, my partner had noticed our Golden Retreiver sniffing my left breast quite regularly , I assumed I had spilt something nice and smelly on my top!
Yep got the diagnosis but after the masectomy not one sniff so neither of us were worried for the lymph node results to come back, as the dog had ‘told’ us nothing spread anywhere else.
Aren’t dogs just great ??
Hi Daisy im other side of all my treatments now finished in Jan (surgery chemo rads) and just wanted to say hi and yiur lovely little furry freind will be by your side throughout treatment!! I have a black lab who became unbelievably clingy since my diagnosis and has been by my side since ? she akso used to paw and nudge my boob before surgery so there may be something in ut!!
Good luck with everything and i hope your treatment plan goes well you will get much needed support throughout and after on here they are a fab bunch and i couldn’t hsve got through my journey without them and my dog ?
Thanks Mishy18, as I have been off work for 4weeks , I have been very spoilt with dog time ?
Also had good news that my Herceptin is negative so no chemo just rads and Tamoxifen to get through.
xx
Animals are very sensitive to radio waves, not for every object, the essence has its own wavelength … They catch all this. I really love my dog!
me my dog often sniffed my boobs
How lovely dogs are our faithful friends couldn’t have got through last year without mine
