Hi Avonlea,
I’ve been on TAC chemo since July and continued to have my periods up until about chemo number 4 and mine were heavier than normal… I thought that my ovaries were trying to prove they that couldn’t be shut off! lol but obviously my periods have now stopped it just took a little longer for me… I know that there was another similar thread about periods so there are a few other people that haven’t stopped their periods either.
Also, I’m 24 and assumed that because of my age and being on the younger side that it might have influenced it but I’m not sure if thats the case or not.
However, if you don’t feel sure just speak to you doctor at your chemo for reassurance!
Hope that helps!

hi avonlea,
i have had 2 fec, due my 3rd on tuesday. My periods are still happening and are also heavier, which i have put down to the chemo affecting the platelets which help clot the blood. I dont know if that is correct or not.
I am on transanamic acid as my periods made me anaemic which was picked up when i went through the test for breast cancer, hope my blood count is ok this monday so that my chemo can go ahead the next day.
hope that has helped a little take care tracey
