i have not been on for a while. iam 43 years old and was put on monthly zoladex injections. i had 19 out of 24 but had some bad side effects. i have been off them for 7 months now and all weekend had period pains. this morning when i went to the toilet it looked like a was going to have a period. it was brown in colour no red and seems to have stopped now. my gp thinks my period are going to return and is going to write to my consultant at christie. but says in the meantime will send me for a scan. has this happend to anyone and is it normal. thanks gaynor
In case this helps, I’m a similar age and also managed just under 2 years of zoladex and tamoxifen and then continued with just tamoxifen. It took me about ten months for my period to return after stopping zoladex and the first one was light and the second one very heavy indeed and then they settled down until they stopped (but I was going through a stressful family time) for over a year. After finishing tamoxifen a few months ago, I’ve had a light period and an unbelievably heavy one…
