Persistent Symptoms

<li-spoiler>Persistent Symptoms</li-spoiler>

Hi all I’m not sure where to begin, I am almost 37 and I am not sure if I have new changes to my right breast or if it is my normal as I really don’t like looking or touching my breasts as they are large!

anyway I wear they same type of bra each day and sleep in a sports bra. I noticed that when I took off my bra my breast looked disformed for a few seconds and then it went away!

this has happened more now that I am paying attention, it also looks like a large line appears from my breast to my nipple area when my nipple is hard but again disappears again within a few seconds, I have also had pain in the same breast but now I don’t know if it’s because I am constantly prodding and poking about my breast, I also get breast pain just before my period and about a week to 10 days after. I am wondering if breast cancer symptoms are persistent or can they come and go

I am becoming obsessed and don’t know what to do, any advice would be appreciated

thanks x

This sounds stressful for you.  If you’re not sure, I’d say book in with a GP for them to consider your symptoms and discuss with you.  This is your first port of call either way.  If it’s bothering you it’s worth getting it checked out.  90% of breast lumps are benign but every one of those did exactly the right thing getting checked out.

There is a helpline on this site and an ask the nurses section if you want a more professional opinion.

Hope you get some answers soon x

Hi jenwil81 - I just wanted to drop in to send you a hug and say that I agree with Ariom22’s very wise advice. Even though you don’t like looking at your breasts, it’s great that you are aware of what is normal and what looks a little unusual. I think everyone would agree that it is always best to check any changes, GPs would also agree - but as Ariom22 says, do remember that most changes are benign. Do come back and let us know if you want to of course. Evie xx
