Absolutely fantastic news ellieDog. I’d be over the moon is my mum is ever told she is in remission. So glad for this news hun. Mum is obedient have a good time at treatment today, lots of delays which is annoying and of course she’s now back to being exhausted. Due scan in next couple of weeks so fingers crossed for good news

Hiya ellie can I ask your age please, also did you have chemo as part of your treatment

Hey everyone I hope you’re well!

Wee update from me! Had my pre chemo appt today and got my mid way scan results… My lung nodules have decreased in size and my onc examined me and found it difficult to determine the primary lump much at all (it was 10cm at diagnosis) the only thing is I have a little fluid on one lung but she’s not concerned, says it could be from an infection but they are gonna keep a close eye on it. So good news! So happy! That fluid just need to bugger off though and I’d be over the moon! Xx

Mum’s scan has finally come through for next Friday.fingers crossed.

Hi Sheila! Yeah I totally understand what u mean! My boob lump was so large I knew the chemo was working but was terrified it hasn’t worked on my lungs! I guess until u start and get that first scan under your belt it is really hard to relax. Unfortunately we are now all in a life where we go from scan to scan hoping for the best but imagining the worst. I’ve heard people get used to this new life but at this moment I’m not there yet! I mean my breast lump was huge (out of nowhere) 10cm and I can barely feel it now and my onc said there’s shrinkage in my lung mets, which by comparison were 1.2cm and 0.6mm so why haven’t they gone gone? Argh u can send yourself crazy with what ifs and maybes I guess u just have to get on with it eh? Fingers crossed u have a good result too hun! This combo is pretty good and my onc was very keen for me to get it xx

Hey! For the first treatment I was told I had to stagger the days, so instead in being in on Tuesday I was in both Monday and Tuesday. Had herceptin first and they had to monitor me for 6hrs post as apparently some people can have reactions and that’s why they do it over 2 days - so they know what u have a reaction to if u have a reaction at all! Just safety I guess! Givin three potent drugs at the same time probably isn’t wise really! I have used the cold cap yes and had a really good result! I have most of my hair, got it cut into a oixie cut before chemo and done cold cap… It is very sore for the first 15 mins then your head goes numb. Try it and if u decide it’s not for u at least u have it a go! I had a lady near me yesterday who couldn’t keep it on for a few mins. Take a couple of painkillers an hour before hand and have it in your head to persevere for 15 mins! I don’t look like I’m going through chemo it’s worked so well! Good luck xxx

Well it’s scan day for mum Friday and blood test day and ecg day.she’s not happy they’re all on one day lol
Then the dreaded wait for results. Hope everyone’s doing well it’s been very quiet so I’m sure your all doing OK x

Nicky great about your results!! I have one chemo left then not sure what the plan is just yet… Did they just continue u on H and P or did they put u on anything else??

I’m hormone positive too so I think they may put me on tamoxifen or something else to shut off my ovaries… Joy!

Ah I’m only 32 I feel it’s gonna be a nightmare!

We shall soon find out! I’ve suffered some phases of hot flushes while on chemo. Hopefully when I see my oncologist in a week prior to my final docetaxol I can ask her where we go from here xx

Nice to hear from you lemon hope everything is well

I’m in the middle of dreaded wait for results time, hate this bit. Scan was 2 weeks ago and mums not got an appointment for results until 26th!!!

Morning all hope your all doing well

Thanks both, feeling so nervous just want good news

Thanks ellie

Results back, traces on liver are still responding,no new nodes so all good and stay on h and p

Great news!!! Xxx

Hey everyone! So that’s me had my 6th cycle of docetaxel, herceptin and perjeta and had my CT scan to see how everything has reacted… My mid way scan showed shrinkage everywhere but a small pleural effusion so I’m hoping this scan shows more shrinkage and hoping that effusion has gone! Results on Friday… Fingers crossed xxx

Hey Sheila

My side effects changed a little and have just got into a kind of routine now! First cycle I had a bad mouth ulcer, thrush and dodgy tummy. As I got further on in cycles I started getting swollen ankles with the steroids and really heavy and achey legs… Got horrible tax mouth (losing taste of everything for about a week) from the second cycle and also tended to get constipated just after chemo then really bad diarrhoea about a week in. Also started on omeprazole for awful acid reflux and don’t have any trouble now. Also at about cycle 4 started getting really streamy eyes and they’d get quite gunky overnight - that’s quite a new side effect, more annoying than anything!!! Hope the side effects are kind to you!! It sounds like a lot but honestly it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting… Just have to make sure if I go out I know where the toilets are!! Xxx
