I had Tram/Diep reconstruction following a failed LD reconstruction 9 weeks ago. I was petrified also but knew I had to go through with it. I was taking a massive risk as I had previously had 2 x liposuction to the abdominal area and had a high risk of flap failure. I am pleased to say that all went well it is a big operation but worth it in the end. I will need further lipofilling in 6 months or so but am so glad to be rid of the implant. There is always risk with surgery and things can go wrong,but it also goes right for a lot of women. I’m sure other ladies for who it has gone right for will give you further reassurance. Hope all goes well for you this breast cancer journey is full of difficult decisions but if you feel happy that it is right for you go with it x
