Phesgo or herceptin?

Hello. I have finished my active chemo treatment and opted for a mastectomy. As a result I achieved a PCR (pathological complete response) and don’t need rads.

I am seeing the oncologist next Wednesday to discuss what happens next. I understand that i will continue phesgo or Herceptin for another 6+ months. My question is how you / they choose which one you have? I think as I’ve had a PCR they’ll offer Herceptin alone, but I’m wondering if there is any benefit of sticking with phesgo. As lots of us are on here, I am doing everything i possibly can to eliminate any chance of being here again.

any advice appreciated, Louise x

Hi LMH

I’m sorry you haven’t received a response yet. If you would like to talk things through with someone in the mean time, our friendly nurses are available to lend a listening ear on our confidential Helpline.

You can reach them on freephone 0808 800 6000 (Mon-Fri 9am-4pm; Sat 9am-1pm). Alternatively, you can get in touch with our Nurses in the Ask Our Nurses area of the Forum and they can respond to you online. We’re always here to support you

Best wishes,

Chiara

Hi

from what I understand they have the same ingredient just given differently. I’m having phesgo via injection into the thigh.
