Hi everyone. Finished chemo on 20th december. I have my phesgo on its own now, im not sure if its the phesgo im on letrozole as well feeling so out of sorts my appetite has nearly gone and im finding every 3 days im vomiting should i call my oncology team. Thanks xx
Hello. Like you I have had chemo and surgery and am just on phesgo now and started taking letrazole late November.
I have had terrible constant diarrhea since starting the chemo in June and I assumed it would stop when I stopped the IV chemo but it hasn’t so I can only assume it’s the phesgo.
I take the letrazole at bedtime and what I have noticed is I wake up feeling slightly queasy but it wears off within a few hours. Also I feel very heavy and my joints are stiff when I wake up. That too wears off.
My breast care nurse said to stick with the letrazole as the side effects usually settle down. This seems at odds with some of the posts I’ve read on here that seem to saying the side effects build up! I’m going to give it some time and see
I think you should definitely speak to your team if it is making you feel rotten and low.
A hug to you x
Thank you so much, its stupid things like lettuce then a protein shake then mixed berries and greek yoghurt yhen oh im being sick its debilitating. My bones feel heavy my appetite has is gone its so bloody hard . Im getting so low which im finding difficult as ive been so positive and upbeat since my journey started. Im too scared to eat as i dont want to be sick, i feel when i do it feels like its just sitting there and not going down. Im sorry im moaning but thank you so much for your reply . Go well

Hello
You definitely need to contact your nurse.
I know that chemo strips your gut of healthy bacteria and it takes a long time for it to balance again so it could be that causing your problems but you really need to get it checked out. I think it’s important you tell them how low you feel.
And try and sip water throughout the day as it will help flush through the nasty stuff as well as keeping you hydrated.
Hope it improves soon x
Hi, yes I think you should let your team know to see if they can help. I’m on tamoxifen so can’t help there, but I was also on phesgo after chemo and continued to have a dodgy stomach (nausea and diarrhoea, although not as bad as when on Docetaxel). I realised that it was whenever I had certain foods and cut out all dairy, then reintroduced things one at a time to see what it was. Turns out I’ve developed an intolerance to milk (weirdly only milk - I can eat cheese and yoghurt etc) since starting chemo, and assume it’s just because of how much it messes with your gut. Since cutting out milk I’ve been much better (someone else in my chemo group also had to cut out lactose after it happened to her too). Thought id mention it just so you and @jayesse can double check there isn’t a pattern linked to food in case something similar is going on in addition to letrozole side effects
Thank you i will try that x
Thank you i drink a lot of water i will be ringing oncology team this morning x
Ive just weighed myself ive lost 7kg in 5 weeks so there is an issue x
I’m on Phesgo injection every 3 weeks now and finished Taxol 5 months ago. Had diarrhea begin at week 5 of Taxol, constant persistence that was no better after Taxol treatments ended but the cramping did become nearly absent. Finally identified one big culprit when traveling recently. I was often skipping meals to avoid a predicament and one day it became obvious that milk products really really gear up the diarrhea. I’ve always drunk quite a bit of milk. Began taking lactase 9000 units with anything suspected of having even a little milk and I am truly 85% better. Need an Imodium maybe once or twice a week now for small persistence. So, part of it I guess is those lactase intestinal cells aren’t able to function for now. Maybe this will help someone.
