Hi, just wanted to share my experience with a recent phone bill in case it helps anyone going through a similar situation - I was diagnosed with DCIS in early May and had several rounds of biopsies and results to pin down the extent, whether it was one side or both etc. For each appointment my friends, being lovely and supportive, asked me to let them know how I had got on etc. I had surgery end of June and was checking through my bank account to pass the time(!) once home again - my last mobile bill came to over £150 when its usually a £21 a month contract - on phoning my company imagining there must be some mistake I was told I had gone over my allocated minutes (usually plenty for me, been on the same contract for ages) and of course then been charged for all calls - eek! With everything that was going on I hadn’t realised how much I had used the phone and of course wanted to talk to people for support and to let them know where things were up to - I’ve now moved to an unlimited minutes package at only a few pounds more a month and so wish I had thought to do that when I was first diagnosed but of course it was the last thing on my mind.
Hope this may help anyone else avoid a huge bill - its the last thing you need, especially when having to manage sick pay etc as well
