Picc, portacath, cannula help!

I had a picc line placed the morning of my first EC chemo on 8th April, felt uncomfortable from the start and 8 days after chemo had a blood clot and inflamed veins from the picc line so it was taken out (relief was real!!) now I’m left with 3 x ec and 12 x paclitaxol +herceptin (injection) and no picc line, I’m worried my body will also reject a portacath (my body is weird) and know ec is particularly harsh on the veins - has anyone not done ec and gone straight to paclitaxol (hoping my veins would manage this with just a cannula) I had stage 2, grade 3 triple positive idc no node involvement

Hi. I have a portacath and had 2 x EC on it.
My first EC is on cannula and until now my hand is sensitive to touch.
So having a port cath really helps but I also have a tough journey on it, it took me 7 weeks to be comfortable on it, it healed so slow and I was uncomfortable sleeping for so long. I was told that some heals faster, so it’s just took me longer.

I was told portacath is placed in a bigger vein, so less risk of the vein ‘burnig up’.

Also less risk of infection.
So far having good time with it.
