Please........ will someone comment !!!

Hello, My lord I have to say this forum is getting so bloody clicky…
HELLO… WE all need advice including me !!

Okay One year after operation I now have a SCAB… I know sorry…yuk… blah,blah…

But. nevertheless the scab is there… today I seen not my normal Onc… but a newbie who said it was normal… One yr on I don’t think so, please ladies correct me if I’m wrong… and it hurts…

Please ladies, I really do need advice… going out of my head at the moment…

Love to you all Teresa xxx

Morning Teresa,

A scab one year after your op doesn’t sound right to me (but I have no medical training). My op’s were 6 months ago and no scab on either site (wle & snb). I think you should go to your GP and get it checked out - a second opinion might put your mind at rest.

Sorry I’m not much help, but do hope that you get it sorted out quickly.

Love Tracey xxxx

Hi Teresa - I’ve got no bl*ody idea but if it were my scab I’d be totally unimpressed. Get on the phone to your GP, or bcn and shout and stamp your feet until you get a decent response.

Hi Theresa

Sorry your onc was no help. Have you tried posting the problem to the nurses on this site? I had a small spot under my scar line and showed it to my practise nurse and chemo nurses, who thought it was a stray stitch. Apparently they can be left behind then work their way through the skin later. It is still there, but has never changed. I still keep my eye on it.

Really hope you can find someone to look at it.

I’m sorry I didn’t reply to you, I didn’t have any experience of it but should still have taken time to at least reassure/support/bump it up. Genuinely sorry. Xxxx hope someone helps. Am currently placing bets on whether your title bar remains intact or if it is tweaked soon! Take care and again, sorry I didn’t listen

ps would be kicking off like mad if that was my scab!

Hi,

Sorry can’t help with the scab but just wanted to agree with you about things being clicky on here.

I’m fairly new and apart from a couple of people I have been pretty much ignored and I can see the clicks on many of the threads.

Shame.

Sheana

hello .so sorry you havnt had any support for your query ,i know sometimes postings get lost in the many that are posted daily ,can i say you need to get another opinion ,dont be fobbed off insist on being seen again ,maybe its nothing to worry about but you need reasurance as we all do once we start on this journey, hope you get some answers soon good luck ,xx

I agree with the other ladies you should get some one to sort this out and as for the forum getting clicky you took the words right out of my mouth have been thinking the same this last week or two,
Celia.x

I’d get it checked again and if they say it’s normal get a really good clear explanation as to why - not medical myself but I wouldn’t have thought scabs should last this long.

Hugs

Reeb xx

Well Teresa, I see your title has been changed by the powers that be!!!
But well said, clicky!! OMG!!! I feel as if I’m back at the school gates, when no-one wants to talk to you!! I too have posted questions/queries and have had little response - I just thought it was because I was new!!! Maybe we should start a new thread titled -‘If your not in a click’.

Anyway rant over, so sorry about your worries, this really does not sound normal, you should get a second, third, fourth opinion if necessary, it’s your body and you know what’s normal and what’s not, get any changes checked out, and don’t come away until you are confident all tests have been done!

I really hope someone with a similar problem gets in touch with you on this site to help you along.

Take care x

Hi Muffet sorry I didnt comment at fist - I have no experiene of scab on wounds and felt others may have had more knowledge. It does feel to me that a scab this far down the line is unusal to say the least - A scab ususally heals and falls over - if this one doesn’t then its not a scab. My wound is clean and healing ok and no problems - although the ‘hole’ where my drain was is still a pit pink and puckered but doesn’t pain me at all.

In respect of clickyness I think a lot of ladies on here just save their ‘own favourite’ thread that they contribute to and don’t even see other threads - so I don’t think they are ignoring people its just they link into only one thread when they come on. I suspect this is because some of the threads on here are scary for us primary ladies and when you see the titles and read what is happening it does play on your mind and its ‘easier’ to block it out.

I think we all go through different phases with our treatment. When I was first diagnosed I came on every day, read every post (scared myself to death) and wanted more and more info, then as I tended to stick to one or two known threads and engaged with people i ‘knew’. Now as i am finished treatment I am stronger and more ready to read posts and help and advise others but being back at work makes it more difficult timewise.

I think this is a fantastic site and it has helped me get through a really difficult time in my life and I intend now to support others going through the same. xxx

Hi Theresa no advice I’m afraid just wanted to wish you good luck , hope you get it all sorted soon and as others have said keep on asking until you get a satisfactory answer!

Hi sorry i didnt comment or reply and hope you dont feel i was intentionally ignoring you but i only comment on threads i feel i have advice on and i have had no experience of scabbing on the wound ,however if it doesnt star showing signs of improvement very soon i would be asking for a second opinion and fighting to get it did you have rads after as i know this can effect the skin even as long after as yours (which is why we have to becareful in sun etc it may be something that has irritated it a bit because we are so careful at first then you go back to using normal toiletries and shower products etc but sorry i really dont know but understand your worry so please go back and ask again xxJulie

Hi

Could I just agree with saffronseed who expressed my own sentiments so well. I don’t post often and tend to just look at posts that feel relevent to to something I am experiencing at the time. I think some folk have just established bonds beyond the casual forum poster, and don’t intend to exclude anyone.

I have not medical knowledge, but asked my GP friend whether a scab this long after surgery seemed ‘normal’. He suggested that it would be unusual but not unknown, and suggested that you go see your GP to help put your mind at rest Teresa, though I seem to remember you are in Spain so not sure how that works. Hope you are doing ok, I sometimes feel that you are much more ‘on your own’ than those of us in the UK. Take care

Hi, Just echoing other’s comments, I only look at threads that seem relevant to me and don’t generally comment if I have nothing useful to say! (Well I hope that is the case!) I am sorry you felt left out and really understand how some of the threads seem to be for groups of friends. sometimes so many postings at a time will mean some disappear from the first page (or two, even)and so get ‘lost’. I do hope that you feel better now and that you get your scab sorted soon, we all worry so much about the smallest thing that we would barely have noticed before dx!
Best wishes,
Miscally

Hi Ladies, I must apologise for my Rant… I had really had a bad day and needed to let of steam. Sorry for causing such a stir…

I will take your advice and go to my local GP… I wonder if it could be a stray stitch too, I hope so…

I think because I live in Spain with the language barrier I just get a little stir crazy, My Mum, sisters, brothers etc are all in the UK… I haven’t seen any of them for 4 years so yes I do feel isolated…

I don’t have any counseling, nothing offered I think due to the language barrier… But I do think sometimes I need it.

Luckily my OH is very supportive along with my Son’s who both live at home still.

Again many thanks, and thank you for changing my Title Thread, It was naughty of me !!!

Love Teresa xxx

Hi Muffett,

I too am reasonabley new to this site, so sorry that you feel unsupported. I too echo so of the previous threads, there are so many and I have to say I only add to threads that I think I can offer any thoughts.

Your scab, needs to be checked out…not too sure your history of your wound, ie has it been leaking recently/ continously even a small amount? if so then a scab is possible.

please get it seen to.
look after yourself and please lets us know what happens
Love Jen xx

Hi all ,
Just to say I am new to this site and have picked out a thread which was relevant to me. Just was looking through some other threads and came across this one but i really dont think anyone means to be clicky at all tho some people may have been talking to others for longer. We’re all trying to support and help each other where we can as this is a scary path we’re on. There’s just so many post on and it’s hard to get to grips with everyones screen names when posting. Anyway, good luck to all. No experience of scabs as I’m a new girl just starting on chemo soon.

Keep us posted on the scab, best of luck. X
I have no idea either, I hasten to add.
