Portacath and DVT

Hi All,
I have been in hospital this weekend due to a axillary vein problem indicative of a DVT. I have been given heparin but am still in a lot of pain. Has anyone else had issues with their portacath and if so what was the outcome.
I am really worried and dont want to panic…but i am due chemo on weds and am not sure what will happen.

oh and it turns out the clot is in my arm pit… any one else had this?

I had blood clots last year in my armpit at the top underside of my arm,I had a central line in my chest ended up having to inject myself with tinzaparin for 3 months, now still having problems my arm is a little swollen, and keeps turning purple/black having investigations at the hospital now awaiting a mri scan of the area where my line was get pain in that area too.
