Hi, i had a quadrantectomy on wednesday morning and was sent home with 1 drain. Its filled up once to 100ml and emptied but since seeing the nurse yesterday morning for dressing changes etc ive noticed its slowed down significantly and theres hardly any fluid in the bottle now at all and i dont think any has gone in it today. There is blood half way down the tube but nothing now getting into the bottle it appears to me.
I dont know if this is normal or not. Maybe theres no fluid left to drain but it seems odd that there appears to be fluid in the top half of the tube.
Any thoughts gratefully received.
Thanks

Do you have a weekend number for the ward where you had your op that you can call and speak to someone who might be able to assist or the nurse that changed your dressing to see what she says?
Hi. It was a day surgical ward which i expect only are there Monday to Friday and no tel number anyway. The drs surgery where i saw the nurse on friday is closed weekends but there is an emergency 24hr surgery in the nearest bigger town i could go to , i just dont know if it warrants it or not. Maybe there just isnt enough to drain out anymore, im just not sure…
Ive got a check up at the hospital monday morning at 10am anyway…maybe it can wait till then??
I could see how it is tmw i guess and decide then…
Thanks.
